Lest We Forget

If you live in Calgary, please find the time to attend one of the local Remembrance Day ceremonies today. An hour out of your day is the least you could do to show your gratitude:
A Time To Remember
More than 100,000 Canadians gave their lives in the wars of the 20th century. Millions stood beside them in personal sacrifice and loss, in the service of Canada, and the world. Commemorate the veterans who fought and gave their lives in wars past and the peacekeepers who continue to serve around the world at this year's Remembrance Day services.
The Museum of the Regiments
The Museum of the Regiments (4520 Crowchild Trail SW) will hold their annual service at its outdoor amphitheatre beginning at 10:45 a.m. There will be a parade of 500 participants with representatives from the army, navy and airforce cadets all laying wreaths in honor of Canada's verterans. Other groups participating are veterans and their families, community groups, local VIPs, and members of the Scout and Girl Guide associations.
Admission is free and there's ample free parking, but organizers ask that you show up early and bring a lawn chair. The service will last for approximately 30 minutes.
More Museums
The Aerospace Museum, and The Naval Museum of Alberta will also be observing Remembrance Day.
Jubilee Auditorium
Remembrance Day services will be held at the Jubilee Auditorium from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Admission is free. For more information, call (403) 244-4664.
Memorial Park
At noon on November 11th, ceremonies will be held at the cenotaph in Memorial Park (12 Ave & 4 St SW) across from the Colonel Belcher hospital.
Admission and parking are free.
I'll see you at Memorial Park.
